Mediterranean Balkan film festival “Across the Lake”, taking place in Dojran for a consecutive second year, is asking for your cooperation. The festival is a selection of the best movies in the motion picture world from the heart of Europe, taking its place on various locations in the city of Dojran, from the 19th until 23 July. The program: BOAT KIDS This is the best selection of movies for children and young people. The projections will be displayed on a movie screen in high resolution, quality sound and picture. The young people and children know what is good; they are a part of the world of pictures and words, so they deserve the best. An extraordinary opportunity for the parents and the children, to share emotions together, pictures, words and love, by the bay of the beautiful lake at the playground in the city park. Because tomorrow, children will navigate the ship of life.
MOVIE AT THE BEACH The student program of selected movies from the National Balkan Mediterranean academies for TV and movie is the path the next moviemakers and their movies will take. This year we will present the Serbian movie academy FDU with the best from their famous school for movie illusions. However, here we also have the best from “Across the Lake” and over the Mediterranean Sea. The projections take place at the beach, where young filmmakers and movie lovers, quite adequately will share their knowledge, skills, expressions, impressions and grains of love sand. Dreams and emotions float easily on the wave of love.
MOTION PICTURES Official selection of feature films The competitive part of the festival, the main course of the Mediterranean movie table, will be six selected feature films from Iran, Serbia, Italy, Turkey, Romania and Greece, most of them co-production with France, Croatia, Bulgaria, Spain and other Mediterranean cinematography. All the flavors and scents of the Balkan and the Mediterranean on the same table, for one unique film experience “Across the Lake”. All the dishes together, in a single movie bite.
THE FESTIVAL’S MAIN FOCUS This year’s focus of the special program is the Serbian modern film and cinematography. Serbia is the country where Balkan and Mediterranean movie tendencies start. Serbian moviemakers represent the bravery in the movie world. The movie pictures coming from Danube, are always flowing in the Black Sea, from where they continue to the Mediterranean Sea and are becoming a wave overflowing all Mediterranean moviemakers and movie lovers. In this special selection, we will see three new Serbian movies. The first one is for the children and young people, seconds one is for the adults and the third one is for all Balkan and Mediterranean people, who will enjoy a love drama from the past.
